I’ve really dropped the ball this holiday season… Halloween was in Ecuador, so no dressing up or trick or treating.  Thanksgiving was in the airport, and then makeup Thanksgiving was the beginning of our epic stomach flu.

Then there’s Christmas.  I didn’t put up a tree.  I just can’t deal with the toddler vs ornament chaos.  I work from home, so my house has to be a place where Aeva can wander around largely unsupervised while I’m on my laptop.  I can’t imagine trying to throw a tree into that mix.

So yeah, no tree.  No wrapped presents laying around.  Grinch grinch grinch.

Jake and I had talked about putting up stockings, but then I realized that there is no place to hang them where Aeva wouldn’t constantly be begging me for them, so I guess I could just give her one on Christmas morning to open, EXCEPT…

I gave her all her gifts already.  Oops.  In my defense, she’s teething, and I needed distractions so that I could work.  Yeah.  I know.

BUT, we are having Christmas Eve at my parent’s house with gifts to open, and Christmas morning at their house will have stockings to open too, so it’s not like she’s really missing out on anything other than opening the gifts Jake and I got her, and really, I don’t think she cares.

Next year I’ll do more.
